ABOUT
ZUHURA COLLECTION
Some collections are inspired by a mood. This one is inspired by a person.
Zuhura — from the Arabic zahara, meaning “to shine” or “to blossom” — was one of the founding matriarchs of the Azadi Community. A mother, a friend, and a guiding force, she believed deeply that economic liberation was inseparable from freedom. The social enterprise that would become Kipato was her dream when Azadi was started.

The STORY
To know Zuhura was to know beauty, joy, kindness, and hope. She lives now as an ancestor — elevated, ever-present, and woven into the work that we do and the way that we stay in community with each other. Her life is our blueprint.
This collection is named for her. It is a reminder that everything Kipato creates must always be guided by the needs of the community around us.

THE COLLECTION
Inspired by water and celestial things, the Zuhura Collection moves through fluidity and form. Soft sculptural shapes meet geometry gently undone, not broken, but softened, the way light bends through water.
Each piece is a sculptural reimagining at the heart of Kipato’s DNA, yet arriving somewhere new. This is not just a new collection. It is a re-introduction: of Kipato, of the Kipato woman, of the journey from where we began to where we stand today.
